Classes and Clinics
We host a variety of different classes and clinics throughout the year. We have very diverse fishing seasons out here on the Olympic Peninsula so our classes and clinics change accordingly. In wintertime most of our classes are steelhead oriented, Fall is salmon and Summer is a bit of everything.
Fishing Classes focus on where the fish will be, how to present the fly in different conditions, and general demystification of fly fishing on the Olympic Peninsula rivers.
Tying Classes are geared towards teaching skill sets and techniques that can be used widely and built upon, while producing a fly that will catch fish on our local rivers.
Winter Steelhead Fishing Tactics
February 28, 2016 N/A
This class takes place on a West End River with the goal of cutting the learning curve on steelhead fishing. We will cover reading water, determining holding lies, steelhead habits, lines, leaders, tips, all of the things that makes fishing for steelhead mystifying. Winter tactics include deeply sunk flies with heavy tips on skagit lines. This class will have little to no casting instruction, as it is focusing more on the actual fishing. If you are newer to the Winter Steelhead and Spey game, you may want to check out our Spey Casting Class first.
